FAQ
My Bosch dishwasher shows E15 and will not run — what does that mean?
E15 is AquaStop leak detection — the base pan float switch found water. This is our most common Bosch call. Unplug and tilt back 45 degrees to drain the base — towels down first. Let it sit upright an hour and retry. If E15 returns, there is an active leak from the sump seal, spray arm hub, or gasket. Even a tablespoon of water triggers it. Find the source rather than repeatedly tilting.
My Bosch is not drying even though it has CrystalDry — is the system broken?
CrystalDry uses zeolite minerals to absorb moisture and convert to heat. Verify CrystalDry is activated in cycle settings — not every cycle uses it. Set rinse aid to level 4 for Jacksonville water. If both are correct, the zeolite container may be saturated or the fan motor failed. Zeolite regenerates during hot wash — cold cycles prevent regeneration.
Why is my Bosch so quiet I cannot tell if it is running?
That is normal — 100 Series runs at 50 dBA, 500 at 44, 800 at nearly inaudible 42 dBA. The InfoLight projects a red floor dot during operation. If the dot is off and interior is dry, the control module or door latch switch may have failed. Bosch modules are sensitive to Jacksonville storm voltage — a surge protector is smart.
The Bosch drain pump keeps running after the cycle — is that normal?
Continuous drain pump means E24 — undrained water detected. Check drain hose for kinks, verify counter-height loop, confirm disposal knockout was removed. If routing is correct, the pump impeller is clogged with debris that bypassed the triple filter. Do not leave it running — the pump motor will burn out.
Is it worth repairing a Bosch 800 Series that is 8 years old?
Almost always yes. The 800 Series costs $1,100-$1,400 new and the stainless tub lasts 15+ years. Common 8-year repairs — drain pump $200-$350, control module $300-$450, door latch $150-$250 — are all under replacement cost. Exception: certain 2015-2018 models have a known sump seal issue. We check manufacture date and advise.
